Associated Press: Subaru posts 2008 sales increase in US
Subaru said Monday its U.S. sales crept higher in 2008, making the Japanese manufacturer poised to be the only major automaker to post a yearly sales increase.
But Subaru sales for all of 2008 rose by 0.3 percent to 187,699 vehicles from 187,208 in 2007, as consumers snapped up its top-selling Forester and Impreza models. The company is set to be the only major automaker to report higher sales for 2008, as the troubled economy pummeled new car sales across the industry.
Marketing Daily: Automotive Marketer Of The Year: Subaru

That is quite an accomplishment for a mid-market brand with a limited vehicle portfolio and marketing clout.
