Ozark Mountain Daredevils
The welcome mat is out for Mason Moyle and Scott Putnam and all of the other rally competitors for this weekend’s 100 Acre Wood
By David Gee
“Located in the heart of the Ozarks in south central Missouri, the city of Salem and surrounding Dent Country offer abundant natural resources, warm hospitality, and a proud Ozark heritage. The Salem area is well known for its many outdoor recreational activities, and is a favorite place to stay for visitors to the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Many of our visitors were so attracted by the natural scenery, beautiful weather and small town living, they decided to call Salem home.”
Well, a little rowdier crowd is about to call Salem home, at least for three or four days, and you can forget about hunting and fishing and camping as some of the preferred activities in these parts during this period of time.
No, these visitors for the 2010 “Rally in the 100 Acre Wood” will be bringing 300-plus horsepower, turbocharged Rally cars, and their recreation will involve mashing the gas and flying over the gravel roads in the surrounding woods at speeds of over 100 miles per hour.

Wired.com: Flipping Off Cops Is Legal, Not Advised
Flipping the bird, or sticking out the middle finger, is perhaps the oldest insulting gesture on earth. The move dates back to ancient Greece and was adopted by the Romans as digitus impudicus — the impudent finger.
National Post(CA): 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX a competent package
The introduction of the third-generation Impreza, introduced in 2008, signalled Subaru's intention to apply a more mainstream approach to its business practices. Pre-rework, most of the company's offerings were, to be polite, a little left of centre. Long admired for its all-wheel-drive ability, Subaru's quirky nature turned off many potential punters - it was, for want of a better description, a Japanese Saab. Nothing wrong with that except it put a crimp on Subaru's true potential. The 2010 Impreza WRX is a fine example of what happens when sound engineering meets attractive packaging.

Tampa Bay Online: Nadel's 'getaway car,' other booty for sale
When Sarasota hedge fund manager Arthur Nadel went on the lam for two weeks before his arrest, he drove off in a 2006 Subaru with leather interior. He left behind an office decorated with art that included a picture of sad clown Emmett Kelly reading the Wall Street Journal – perhaps symbolic of the 400 victims who lost $168 million because of their investments in what turned out to be Nadel's Ponzi scheme.
Left Lane News: Report: 2012 Subaru Impreza lineup may include hybrid
According to inside sources speaking with Road & Track, the hybrid Legacy that has been promised since 2005 does not properly host a hybrid powertrain due to unnamed issues with its chassis. Because of this, Subaru’s engineers have instead turned to the Impreza model to house their hybrid powertrain and become the automaker’s first production hybrid.

Tom's Guide: A DIY flying hovercraft can not only cross over land and water, but soar up to 10 feet in the air.A DIY flying hovercraft can not only cross over land and water, but soar up to 10 feet in the air.
Under the "hood," the hovercraft packs a 1.8 liter Subaru engine which has the potential to crank out a maximum of 140 MPH. The machine works as a boat without its wings and tail, however with the appendages attached, the craft will actually take flight once it speeds beyond 43 MPH. The craft can also carry two people, or 352 pounds, whichever is greater.
