Motor Trend: Report: Joint Toyota, Subaru Rear-Drive Coupe Coming to U.S. as a Scion
Even before Toyota officially announced its intention to partner with Subaru on a small, lightweight, rear-wheel-drive coupe, a rumor and speculation brush fire has been burning around the car. The latest flames are licking up over what brand(s) the new coupe will wear when it finally hits the U.S. market sometime in 2011. According to recent Internet chatter, the Subieota, or Toyobaru, will instead don the Scion badge for Toyota when it comes to the States.
Motor Authority: Report: Toyota-Subaru joint project to be branded as Scion in U.S.
News of a Toyota-Subaru joint sports car project has inspired mixed feelings - trepidation on the part of Subaru owners that loathe Toyota's influence, yet also hope for Toyota fans that long for the days of the Supra and Celica, or even the AE86 Corolla and MR2. Now word that the car will be branded as a Scion in the U.S. has emerged, and it makes sense as the logical home for a car targeted at the younger generation.

Examiner: Test-drive: 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX
Anyone can build a car that accelerates quickly or posts good skidpad numbers. Building a car that can do those and actually be fun to drive in the process... well, that is what Subaru is trying to do with the 09 WRX.

Financial Post: TestFest: Best new green technology
The partial-zero emissions vehicle rating of Subaru's Legacy and Outback models takes the gasoline engine to a place it has never been -- it is 90% cleaner than a non-PZEV vehicle. On the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) air pollution scale (which runs from zero to 10), Subaru's PZEV vehicles earn a stellar 9.5 points, which is just half a point behind a zero-emissions electric vehicle. To put this number into perspective, the outgoing Legacy rated a six out of 10; the Toyota Camry Hybrid and Nissan Altima Hybrid earn eights.
Autoblog: In The Autoblog Garage: 2009 Subaru Impreza 2.5 GT 5-Door
It says something when an automaker sees fit to give the tachometer a place of prominence in the gauge cluster. "We're serious," it implies. Unamused sports cars like the Porsche 911 assign the rev counter a level of gravity beyond being a glorified "engine is running" idiot light. Fortunately, the Paprika Red Subaru Impreza GT 5-door that recently arrived in the Autoblog Garage stated its intentions clearly by placing this most important gauge in its "proper" place. New to the Impreza range, the GT model is a chafing dish full of original WRX simmering through an automatic transmission. An autobox may seem anathema to the 224 horsepower turbo-fed boxer, but we were pleased to discover that all the fun is not sopped up by a spongy tranny
